SITARA’s work

Community-led action
for rights and peace.

SITARA’s work connects community communication, language, access to services and support for people affected by conflict.

01

Community communication

Training people to record stories and concerns using mobile phones, producing local-language audio through Bultoo (Bluetooth) Radio, and helping bring recorded grievances to the attention of relevant authorities.

02

Gondi language

Supporting word collection, dictionary development and language technology so that Gondi speakers can share knowledge and participate more fully in education and public life.

In 2023, SITARA’s language work included community visits and workshops to collect words from different Gondi dialects.

Peacebuilding and displaced families

Documenting the experiences of families displaced by conflict, supporting their efforts to access rights and services, and creating opportunities for dialogue through community meetings and peace initiatives.

04

Health and education

SITARA’s work has included rural health outreach, mobile health services, education and nutrition support, including work with children from displaced families.
