SITARA Association is a voluntary organisation founded in 1998 and led by members of Indigenous communities.

Our mission

SITARA works with Indigenous and marginalised communities to advance their rights and access to food, education, healthcare, shelter and livelihoods.

Our approach

We work alongside communities to understand the challenges they face, help their voices be heard and support access to services and rights. Our work has developed from rural health and education to community communication, Gondi language initiatives, peacebuilding and support for displaced families.

Our programmes have involved communities in central India, including Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
